Tall grass with sharp edged leaves, white bulbous base - both the leaves and stems are edible, so there's no need to harvest the stalk; just trim and chop the fresh leaves.
It grows incredibly quickly during the Summer months and benefits from being potted up.
For the first time I managed to over Winter a pot of this on the windowsill at home, kept dry and looking very dead it came back to life during the May sunshine when I started to cut and water it!

It is a green tea, also it is ideal around the house in an out side to protect from all sorts of insects such as mosquitoes, and flies. One can be very comfortablly relax and enjoy the sun and fresh air. Also fresh green tea . I used in my home made masala tea in the morning and I must say very refreshing. Must on my list in herbs. I have a big one in my conservatory which for my tea and peaceful no lies or biting insects. Very happy 😁👍
