A hardy perennial with vigorous, upright, dark or brighter green leaves, depending on the time of year, purple flowers and a lime fragrance when rubbed and brushed against.
The leaves may be used in summer drinks or with fruit salad and that combination of mint and lime makes them ideal for a Mojito.
Plant in a rich, moist soil in sun or shade, good in pots or tubs.
